Renewable energy is great but should we consider better insulation for our home to reduce our energy PDF Print E-mail

Open cell foam has its place in the world of interior insulation. Just like its tougher (higher density) cousin, it provides excellent insulation due to its very high degree of air tightness. It is especially suited for wall insulation.

Open cell foam is sprayed in place. Good quality foam looks like a solid mass without cavities or holes. Only under a microscope can the burst or open cells be seen. Open cells are created by a high quantity of blowing agent which causes the cells to pop like balloons. This is by design: it improves the yield, lowers the cost of the finished products, and makes the foam breathable. The breathing rate is very slow, so the building is practically still airtight, but the insulation allows moisture in the other building components to escape.  Today a lot of home owners are using spray foam as floor insulation which can make a big difference to the general temperature of your room.

Open cell foam provides a long list of benefits to the people living or working in a home or building:

1) Energy savings. In many studies in the U.S. the foamed homes use about 50% less energy than homes with conventional insulation, even when insulated to the same U-value. So it is not the U-value but the air tightness that counts. Typical structures lose 70% of all interior air every hour. This is called the (involuntary) air changes per hour/ACH. When you use E:zero E500, ACH is 0.1 instead of 0.7. The fact is that your heated or conditioned air is lost about 7 times more often if the house is not foamed. Many loft insulation suppliers do not tell you this but we know it’s a fact.

2) IAQ - Indoor Air Quality: A major concern around the world. Foamed homes allow the inhabitants to manage the unwanted intrusion of moisture, allergens, dust, and everything else penetrating the building envelope. IAQ is greatly improved in a foamed home.

3) Quiet - very quiet, because sound is an air wave which travels through the imperfections of the building envelope. Besides, open cell foam is soft and simply absorbs sound.

4)  Healthful, because foam is inert; it does not react. Beyond that, it's water-based! Many people don't know that car seats, pillows, and mattresses are made from a close relative of insulation foam. No concerns there.

5) The environment loves foam, too! Homes insulated with foam may reduce CO2 emissions by 50%. Here is a unique opportunity to save the planet and money in one step.

6) Technical details: a cubic meter of E500 weighs only 8 kg. E500 passed the European burn test SBI EN 13823. Open cell foam is not waterproof, and it is not a vapor barrier. It is made for CPI in Germany. Open Cell foam provides the perfect roof insulation for your home and based on the points highlighted above this foam technology seems to be the way to go. When dealing with cavity and attic Insulation open cell foam is always the most environmentally sound choice.

From promotion to selling, accounts to employee bio-data everything is computer based.

So, all the companies are spending big dollars on taking their business online making attractive and still user-friendly websites. But the first and foremost step is choosing a
domain name and domain name registration is very important so that somebody else does not register it before you do.

Domain name is kind of your website's address or you can take it as a name to call your website. It is the thing which the user will write in the address bar of his browser to reach a particular site so you should choose such a name which is easy to remember and which is quite common and popular especially among the particular group you want to target and it should be in the simplest and shortest form.

Now for the perfect choice, you need to think about it seriously with full concentration as it is that thing which can both raise your website and can also take it to the bottoms. Discuss with your friends and your employees about it, maybe you get the perfect name which you want. And you do have one practical solution for this, you can select the least educated or an old fellow of your family and make him speak the different names which come to your mind and observe his or her reaction and repeat the process until that blank look disappears and make sure the one you choose is available, simple and is catchy at the same time, and obviously it should be related to your business and explains to the customers with what you deal.

Other tricks you can use is just altering the domain name of some very popular website in your field and putting it up, and make it sure that it is rated high by the top search engines like the Google. You choose some service which helps you in selecting the appropriate domain names and also tells you if they are available or not.

Summing up, you should choose the one which is common and attractive, avoid hyphens and commas, and do take care of the cost and the available bonuses like free hosting and site building, photo album and many more, and don’t forget to choose a good domain registrar providing 24/7 service and help via phone or email. Australia
Domain registration Australia is one of the most popular as it is cheap, ensures a good amount of customers and moreover you can get the domain names you desire with the suffix .com.au and kinds if they are not available with the usual suffix and also you get the same name or rather better name at cheaper rates with domain registration Australia, especially if you are targeting the Australian audience.

Facebook Application Development - Tips for Owners and Designers PDF Print E-mail
Written by Dmitriy Kharchenko
Tuesday, 09 March 2010 23:14

Facebook applications are an innovation aimed to help their owners to make the most of one of the largest social networks. But like any other popular novelty, this Facebook option raises a lot of questions too.

In this article you'll find tips and recommendations which can be helpful when planning, designing, and developing Facebook applications. Facebook Development Platform - Innovations and... Volatility Facebook is growing fast now. The number of Facebook users escalates in thousands and millions. It means that Facebook apps owners get increasingly more potential users every single day. But this coin has a reverse side too: due to Facebook rapid evolution tools for the application development - Facebook API (Application Programming Interface), etc - are changed quite often as well. Owners, designers, and developers should keep track of such new features because they can affect appearance, functionality, and operability of existing applications. So, before starting planning a Facebook application make sure you have read Facebook Privacy Policy and Facebook Developer Principles and Policies.

These documents contain lists of limitations that should be taken into account while designing and developing your Facebook application. If your application doesn't correspond to them, the Facebook team may not approve it for using on Facebook. Read Facebook Developers Roadmap to be aware of the upcoming changes and to forecast respective modifications of your application in advance. Frankly, documents mentioned above are not bedside literature. If you outsource their reading and learning to programmers, just remember that there are some constraints and internal rules on Facebook which can change with time, and your FB application should follow them. Successful Facebook Applications Start from Successful Design Design is extremely important for Facebook application success. In order to provide good look and feel of your FB app take into account the following points. Design should be an integral part of a general application concept and convey ideas and feelings behind it. Design should be user-friendly, intuitive, and of playing style to some extent, because Facebook apps are entertaining by their nature. That extent depends on your application niche. Design should be social-networking and viral - and give a user a supporting environment to socialize with other users.

Does your design encourage people to communicate and make invitations? Does your design help people to express themselves and show them in a favorable light among their friends? Will users say each other "Wow, just take a look at that app!"? Design may impose certain restrictions on a Facebook application and, therefore, cause problems when programming the app and afterwards when adding new functional features. As a result, a FB application design should be flexible and simple enough to be able to reflect that constant Facebook growth we've discussed above. Also remember that potential users are spoilt by numerous already existing applications competing for their attention. So, analyze your competition to understand what and why is popular and how it can be overcome. Facebook Apps vs. Facebook Connect - What Is the Difference From a Development Viewpoint? Basic-level components of Facebook Connect are scripts which help to realize such options as sharing a piece of content or a link from your website onto Facebook, driving fans to your Facebook Page, etc. Such scripts are ready-to-use and easy-to-install onto a website. Unlike it Facebook apps are software applications which are developed from scratch using Facebook Development Platform (Facebook API), as well as PHP, AJAX, MySQL, and other programming languages, libraries, and so forth. No wonder Facebook applications development and integration require designers, programmers, testers to be involved, and it is very similar to the creation of any other piece of conventional software.

This is also true for Advanced Facebook Connect options and their tuning. Facebook applications shouldn't be confused with ordinary websites too. Usually FB apps are complex web-based systems with a lot of back-end (server-side) modules which, actually, provide app functionality and make the application attractive for users. Facebook applications and Facebook Connect are all the rage now. What your FB app will be - just an attempt to follow the fashion or an effective tool to make the most of Facebook - depends on many factors. The deeper you learn and understand them, the better your result will be. About the Author Dmitriy Kharchenko is the CEO of Acceptic Ltd, a software and custom Web development company. Among other services, Acceptic provides Facebook Connect integration and Facebook application development - FB apps that win a lot of fans.

Cloud Computing - ASUS O!Play HD2 Delivers at CeBIT in Hannover PDF Print E-mail
Written by My HD Package
Tuesday, 09 March 2010 12:35

(08 March 2010)

“I've looked at clouds from both sides now....” – Joni Mitchell “Both Sides, Now.”

News from the HDTV Guide My HD Package at the CeBIT Show in Hannover

One of the latest buzz phrases evolving out of the current economic conditions and technological advancement is “cloud computing.” While computers and the internet are inexorably linked to the technology, the ramifications for casual home entertainment is the beneficiary of the residual fallout from the explosion of the concept.

In a nutshell, cloud computing – most often seen as a proper noun, as “the Cloud” – integrates the service providers with the end users. Instead of the usual “client-server” relationship, it has changed to be a “client-service” relationship. The distinction is that the service makes the server a moot point from the client's point of view. This essentially makes the internet cloud diagram– which was simply a visual construct used by systems analysts and other tech types to indicate a complex connexion: Then a miracle happens – a reality.

This concept has made a big splash at the CeBIT show in Hannover, Germany this week. Among a number of tech toys on display was an intriguing offering from ASUS, Inc. This leading edge company has a decades-long history of providing advanced computer-based products; they show no signs of slowing down.

The O!Play HD2 is an upgraded version of the original Cloud Computing – ASUS O!Play HD2O!Play multimedia storage device that was released to the UK and European markets last year. There was one glaring oversight in the first production model in that Wireless-N networking had been omitted. This issue has been resolved and an enhanced version was unveiled at CeBIT that not only corrected the omission, it was further upgraded to include USB 3.0 connectivity. There are very few devices supporting this advanced standard at the moment, but it indicates the future of USB is bright. USB 3.0 is approximately 10 times faster than USB 2.0 and it has full backward compatibility with the older USB technology.

The ASUS O!Play HD2 is not a multimedia storage device. With its connectivity options, it has become a true interface to the Cloud – connecting your HDTV to a larger community of services at a very reasonable price point. The O!Play HD2 is priced near £80, has no integrated storage (a cost saving measure, no doubt) and it can play or stream virtually any file format from any device and route it according to the user's needs.

This is a product to keep your eye on. As soon as the “Issue Zero” bugs are ironed out, this small device is likely to be the hub of your Home Theatre system and provide all the connectivity one can reasonably expect.
