Composer Hanan Townshend Blurs the Line Between Science and Spirituality in ‘The Book of Vision’

Townshend weaves a spellbinding tapestry of sounds in Carlo Hintermann’s directorial debut about hopes, dreams, and death

Composer Hanan Townshend’s new score for The Book of Vision is now available on Amazon. The Terrence Malick production marks swiz documentarian Carlo Hintermann’s directorial debut.

“This film faces the reality of life and death, our hopes and fears, and inspires us to live life to the fullest,” says Townshend of the mind-bending journey.

Hintermann describes The Book of Vision as “a game of mirrors between two dimensions, inspired by the type of storytelling in video games.”

The production’s international cast includes Charles Dance (“Game of Thrones”), Lotte Verbeek (“Outlander,” “The Borgias”), Sverrir Gudnason (“Borg vs. McEnroe”), Isolda Dychauk (“The Borgias,” “Faust”) and Italian actor Filippo Nigro.

Far from a traditional scientific perspective, the book, written by Dr. Anmuth, contains the hopes, fears, and dreams of over 1800 patients. It’s also a manuscript that takes past and present and hurls them into an unexpected psychological vortex.

The haunting soundtrack if interlaces pre-recorded arrangements and improvisations to transport ake audiences through a profoundly emotional musical experience that flutters between realms. Townshend’s musical mosaic of old, new, and futuristic sounds beautifully compliments Hinterman’s  the timer jumping journey.

According to Townshend, the score is built around the saxophone, often riffing off inspiring classical pieces from music luminaries like Brahms and Liszt.

“Compositionally, the original work is an extension of this world, blending clarinet, saxophone ensemble, and strings to enhance the woody soundscape. Federico Pascucci’s musical additions also bring a lovely romantic heartbeat,” says the Seattle based composer known for scoring Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups, To the Wonder, and Sound to Sound.

The full score, composed of 22 tracks, is a collaboration between Townshend, Errichetta Underground, and the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra.

The release of Hintermann’s theatrical debut is a significant milestone for the young composer. This project, which recently debuted at the Venice International Film Critics’ Week in Italy, is a testament to the soft-spoken musician’s musical and professional advancement. In The Book of Vision, Townshend takes his spellbinding arrangements and injects raw and poignant accents that make up a genuinely original sonic kaleidoscope.

This year, the in-demand musician also became a significant contender in the commercial music sector by scoring music for global iconic brands like Google, Nike, American Express, and Apple, among others.

Townshend is currently scoring On The Line, the true story of a Mexican orphanage, Casa Hogar, struggling to survive after Hurricane Odile hit in 2014.

Whether it’s with commercials or theatrical releases, Townshend captures the ears of the film industry and music fans alike. Fans  can check out an exclusive track from THE BOOK OF VISION by clicking the following link: The Book of Vision – The Child.

Author’s New Book Receives Warm Literary Welcome – Side Steps Terrorizing Sound Bites

Amy Jean’s Side Steps Terrorizing Sound Bites receives multiple five-star reviews.

Sherri Rosen, a NYC book publicist, says, “I just read this book, and it blew me away. Perfect time for a book like this telling it like it is. Provocative, pushing the envelope, honest. Just what we need right now! Buy it! You will be so glad you did!”

K.C. Finn, Readers’ Favorite, says, “Author Amy Jean has created a true rollercoaster of poetic works and musings, one which delivers on both its structural front as a collection and the emotional front as an experience to work through. A particular highlight of the work for me was ‘Faberge Egg,’ which exuded such a powerful aura of artifice versus reality, and intelligently played this theme over our real lives, and ‘Say It Isn’t So,’ which explores the importance of female empowerment, ideas of childhood naivety and the freedom that comes to us all from ‘the game of life’: chillingly brilliant.”

Side Steps Terrorizing Sound Bites poetically reveals the diabolical ramifications of life being played rather than lived. Amy Jean shares personal trials, tribulations, and contemplation in a spirited, rhythmic chime. The struggle of women to be recognized in a male-dominated society is boldly depicted in activist poetry style. This collection shoots flares up at the historical missteps we habitually ignore. Fiery intensity and engaging illustrations amplify the words on the page and drive them home to readers who are open to engaging with our flawed history.

In Side Steps Terrorizing Sound Bites Part 2: Some things are black and white, Amy Jean continues to share the ramifications of repetitive historical missteps in an intense poetic clang. The poems hint at unknown universal truths, including direct indications that we currently do not have the freedom we assume we possess, nor are we privy to view reality. Implied impending euphoria holds the reader hostage, as she or he flips from page to page. You can feel the author’s anguish surrounding the greed and jealousy holding humanity back from breaking through to universal liberation: A rapidly approaching future where the oneness depicted in Holy Scripture is a present and universal truth for all. Sincere tantalizing morsels of a gentle and enduring devotion seep sporadically between poems broadcasting profound rage regarding paths endured. You can feel the author’s confidence build as she evaluates her worth against the negative feedback and denial she has experienced throughout her tumultuous, synthetic, and isolated existence; An existence she is painstakingly laboring to reconstruct, piece by piece, through intense contemplation. The juxtaposed nature of the work takes the reader on a rollercoaster ride of emotional highs and lows, culminating in a final AMEN. Illustrator, Eric Savage, delivers once again with heartwarming illustrations that poignantly captivate the essence of the words on the page. Side Steps Terrorizing Sound bites offer’s poetic snippets of Amy Jean’s memoir, The Kingdom Has Arrived.

A New Cryptocurrency: BitcoinPoS – Bitcoin Proof of Stake

A New Cryptocurrency to Revolutioneze Crypto World: BitcoinPoS – Bitcoin Proof of Stake

While Bitcoin (BTC) is the most popular cryptocurrency on the market, nowadays, it is quite difficult to invest in the coin if you do not have a higher capital status. Mining for Bitcoin is also an expensive venture, as the costs can get very high for hardware, its maintenance and updating. But crypto enthusiasts that missed out when BTC was at a lower price have a new opportunity of investment, Bitcoin Proof of Stake.

BitcoinPoS: A Better Bitcoin

Bitcoin Proof of Stake (BPS) is a new and improved version of the Bitcoin core, as it eliminates the issues faced by its Proof of Work consensus, with the new coin using the more efficient Proof of Stake protocol.

Bitcoin’s Proof of Work is the protocol that manages the issuing of new coins by verifying and approving new transactions. There are, however, some disadvantages when it comes to PoW, as it makes Bitcoin slower in processing times, less scalable, and more prone to centralization.

Bitcoin has many principles that are unique to the crypto world, and by adding Proof of Stake, BPS developers have created a coin which removes the limitations of PoW. Also, if any updates are made to the code of Bitcoin, Bitcoin Proof of Stake will be updated with these new changes.

There are variations of the Proof of Stake models, some more efficient than others. To benefit from the best security and make BPS as resilient as possible to attacks, the developers opted to implement the Mutualized Proof of Stake consensus. MPoS requires a lot of time and money from attackers if they want to breach the network, making it almost impossible for them to do so.

Issuing and Block Reduction

Like Bitcoin, BitcoinPoS can only have a maximum of 21 million BPS. Instead of creating new coins via mining, the BPS network uses staking (holding coins in an active account). In terms of supply management, the BPS protocol reduces the block reward by 25% every 700k blocks, once every 4 years. Bitcoin also has a supply measure that decreases the mining reward, with 50% at the same rate.

What Makes BitcoinPoS Special?

Encourages Decentralization

PoW mining is very competitive, and now it takes a lot of resources for a miner to get the block reward. In contrast, Proof of Stake networks allow users, or validators, to generate new coins by staking a certain amount of coins in an open wallet/account. Staking is considerably less demanding from a computing perspective, meaning users can easily get new BPSs without breaking the bank. Today, only huge mining companies are able to mine Bitcoin, excluding most of the individual crypto enthusiasts that might have wanted to participate. In the BPS network, all users can stake, which means that everyone can join to make the crypto stronger and more decentralized.

Resilience Against 51% Attacks

As a PoW network risks of becoming centralized, there is another security issue that can endanger the entire network. When a person takes control of 51% of the network hashrate, he can do whatever he wants on that blockchain and use all its resources to his own advantage. As BPS is a PoS-based system, the network has added resilience against 51% attacks, as the design of the protocol is based on decentralization, and the attacker would have to spend too much on an attack.

99% Reduction in Power Consumption

The staking process requires significantly less electric energy for producing new coins, consuming 99% less than the mining resources needed to generate a new Bitcoin.

Friendly to the Environment

Mining Bitcoin is very detrimental to the environment, but as staking Bitcoin PoS requires only a fraction of the energy and resources for mining, it makes BPS greener.

Staking Is Easy and Accessible to Everyone

Many people do not have the funds or the space to buy and house ASIC mining rigs. However, those who own laptops or desktop computers can use it to stake BPS without extra costs.

Bitcoin Proof of Stake (BPS) is the second chance for those that came too late to invest in BTC, as it features the advantages of the world’s number one coin, with the added improvements from its Proof of Stake integration.

Staking on BitcoinPoS – Getting Started

Staking on Bitcoin Proof of Stake is a simple way of earning passive income. It requires minimal hardware coupled with low electricity costs. Here’s how you can start staking BitcoinPoS coins on the blockchain and earn passively.

  • Download Wallet– The first step is to download the BitcoinPoS wallet for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X
  • Purchase BitcoinPoS- After downloading the wallet, the next step is to purchase BitcoinPoS from your preferred crypto exchange. BPS has been listed in Coin Tiger,Finexbox and Bilaxy crypto trading platforms.
  • Stake Coins- Staking BPS is quite easy and straightforward. Anyone with a computer and a minimum amount of BPS in his wallet can stake. However, if you don’t want to stake on your own and leave the wallet open to generate the rewards, you can use one of the staking pools, which support BPS: StackofStake or MyCointainer. The team is also working on the cold staking feature that should be released in the nearest future.

Earn Rewards- After staking, start earning rewards based on the amount of staked BitcoinPoS. The rewards are calculated using the MPOS algorithm.

While Bitcoin Proof of Stake uses a proof of stake mechanism, the Bitcoin PoS still keeps up with upgrades to the Bitcoin network. Any upgrade made by the developers are added to the Bitcoin PoS blockchain. Today, the coin is tradable on crypto exchanges; it has a market price of USD 89.07 according to data on CoinMarketCap. It has a market cap of $308,995,384 and it is ranked at 40 by market cap in the world but actual raking on coinmarketcap.com is 205 because of their raking systems.

New listings on different platforms and exchanges will come.

$500 million dollar lawsuit filed against USA Today and Gannett

Vivera Pharmaceuticals today filed a lawsuit in Federal Court against Gannett, its publication USA Today, and their reporters and executives for damages in excess of $500 million for defamation, trade libel and intentional and negligent interference with prospective economic advantage.

On June 2, 2020, USA Today reporters David Heath, Kevin McCoy and Donovan Slack, published an article entitled “You could see the train wreck coming’: Inexperienced, dubious companies, among many aiming to cash in on coronavirus antibody tests.”

According to the lawsuit, the article contained numerous false and misleading statements about Vivera and its COVID-19 antibody tests. The article is a disparaging hit piece against CEO Paul Edalat. The reporters personally attacked Edalat with false claims about his character, business dealings and ongoing litigation.

USA Today chose to publish false information about the accuracy rates of Vivera’s COVID-19 antibody tests, misleading readers by taking quotes out of context in order to make it appear as though Vivera was hiding information from the public. Vivera has always been transparent about its two COVID-19 antibody test kits and published the validation results of those tests on its website.

On June 3, 2020, one day after the article was published, Vivera, through its legal counsel, delivered a letter to USA Today specifying the false and misleading statements and demanded that USA Today issue a retraction.

Seven days later on June 10, 2020, USA Today’s parent company, Gannett Media refused to retract the article or remove or correct any false and misleading statements about Vivera. The paper did, however, change the title of the article to “Inexperienced, dubious companies on FDA list to sell coronavirus antibody tests.”

“It is unfortunate that Gannett, and USA Today, chose to knowingly print false, misleading, and disparaging comments about myself and Vivera,” said Paul Edalat, CEO of Vivera Pharmaceuticals. “We provided USA Today an opportunity to retract this article, which they refused. This article has nothing to do with the quality of Vivera’s antibody tests and was a coordinated attack on me in an effort to disparage Vivera.”

Vivera has filed suit in the United States District Court, Central District of California.

5 tips to redesign your home while sheltering in place

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re doing our best to protect ourselves and our communities by staying home—but the same surroundings for weeks on end can get a little boring. If you find yourself with the time to start (and finish!) home improvement projects, you can take the opportunity to transform your space, freshen up whatever’s feeling stale, and establish a new sense of peace in your home.

Experts on the Vacasa Interior Design team rounded up a list of tips and inspirational vacation homes to help bring your most coveted Pinterest boards to life—plus, a little redesign will give you a much-needed sense of control over your environment in this period of uncertainty.

1. Declutter your spaces

Right now, many of us are feeling worn out by the unpredictability and chaos surrounding the global pandemic that governs our lives. By consuming news about the virus every day, we are overstimulating ourselves—and it’s possible our living spaces could reflect that state of mind.

Small changes can make a world of a difference here. Start by examining your home with a critical eye, thinking about what gives you comfort versus what may be subconsciously adding to your stress. Here are some of the ways to give yourself a mental break:

  • Take your mail, including pesky bills, off the dining room table and establish a drawer where they can live until you’re ready to revisit them—then, wipe down all your counters!
  • Consider whether there are too many items on your bookshelves and dressers. Does the arrangement look hectic to you? Do any of the items conjure up unpleasant memories? If so, remove some, putting them in storage or a box to eventually donate.
  • While you’re at it, check out your pantry and closets, too. Odds are, they could benefit from some serious reorganization.
  • Examine your home for stray cords, and tack them along the walls for a much cleaner, more orderly feel.

2. Rearrange your common areas

It’s tempting to spend all day in front of the television when you’re working from home or trying to entertain the kids. But, wouldn’t we all rather have meaningful conversations with loved ones, read, or play board games—at least some of the time?

Think about whether your living room furniture is arranged to foster interactions between those in your household. Set up your couches or chairs so they’re facing one another, and make sure you have a coffee table in the mix where drinking glasses can rest, novels can be set down, and Monopoly can be played!

3. Spruce up the kitchen

Kitchens are essential spaces to connect with members of your household—especially right now. More than ever, people are enjoying the art of baking cookies with their kids, or creating a home-cooked meal with a partner. Maximize circulation as much as possible, and provide extra hang-out room with chic barstools, or reimagine the flow between the kitchen, dining, and living areas.

If you don’t already have one, considering adding a kitchen island to give yourself more counter space. We know bumping arms in the kitchen is never fun, and can result in a sliced finger!

Proper layered lighting in kitchens is also crucial, both for creating ambiance and for aiding in specific tasks. Pendant lighting over an island, under-cabinet lighting, and overhead lighting should all be considered.

4. Experiment with new pops of color

Color gives a room its feeling and can evoke warmth and comfort. Spring is the perfect season to introduce new hues to your home, so there’s no better time than the present for a quarantine refresh.

DIY painting is a cathartic way to brighten your mood and enhance day-to-day living. Consider the best location in your home for an accent wall. Is it in the living room behind the couch, or would it be better suited for the bedroom? Think warm jewel tones and cheery bold colors—but remember to stay true to your own personality and style.

If you want to make more subtle updates, try replacing pillow slipcovers or investing in a new throw blanket for an added splash of color and texture.

5. Play up the bedroom

Many of us are having trouble sleeping right now due to pandemic-induced stress. Maybe you’re having bad dreams, just can’t get to sleep, or wake up too frequently. And, let’s be honest, we all need some R&R right about now.

Consider what aspects of your bedroom may be disrupting (or, at least, not helping) your REM cycle without you knowing it. Make sure you have plenty of pillows, including accent throws, and think about investing in new, high-quality sheets.

Put up some art that brings a smile to your face, but make sure it complements the overall feel of the room. Equip your bedside table with essential items that give the room character and added utility, like a lamp or a clock. For more interior design tips and tricks, visit: https://www.vacasa.com/property-management/interior-design.

Soul Singer Randy Hall Is On a Hot Streak with New Solo Single “A New Way of Love” Following Vault Hit with Late Jazz Legend Miles Davis

After years spent in a lucrative retreat from the spotlight, multi-faceted musician/singer Randy Hall is in the midst of a hot streak as a recording artist as hot as his home base: Las Vegas!

Randy Hall has enjoyed international chart-topping success with his solo single “How Do You Want Your Love” (co-composed with Kevin Toney, founding keyboardist of Donald Byrd’s Blackbyrds band) which vaulted over superstars such as Charlie Wilson and Usher to hit the top of the U.K. Soul Chart and several others from Brazil to Germany. Next, Hall had the honor of hitting the top of those same charts with a song he originally wrote in the `80s for Al Jarreau to sing as a guest of Miles Davis on an album that was ultimately shelved for decades. That swingin’ song, “I Love What We Make Together” (from 2019’s jazz chart-topping posthumously released Miles album, Rubberband) also shot up the world charts.

Now Randy Hall is firing back by dusting off a song from his archives entitled “A New Way of Love” that is even stronger than its predecessors. In a review for the digital magazine Pump It Up, the writer exclaimed, “The chorus has a sweet ear-bending harmonic surprise kissed to life by backup singers Medina Johnson and Patrice ‘KP’ Isley while the rhythm track gives those mature enough to remember a masterful Barry White vibration. The only things this 4-minute single edit lack are a mid-song breakdown, a sexy spoken mack laid on thick over the top and a guitar solo from master-picker Hall.” This entry is so smokin’ hot and ready for spring/summer that Hall is doing an intensive promotional push for it to sail up the charts at American Soul radio outlets from Sirius satellite to terrestrial stations from coast to coast. Irresistible to the heart and impervious to burnout, “A New Way of Love” will give longtime lovers of real soul music reason to fall in love with Randy Hall all over again.

Randy Hall first sprang to international attention at the young age of 21 circa 1981, co-writing and singing “The Man with The Horn,” the title track of jazz legend Miles Davis’ first album in six years after a self-imposed hiatus for health reasons. Hall also co-composed and played guitar on the instrumental “Shout,” the lead single from The Man with The Horn that reintroduced him to the marketplace. In short order, Hall was recruited to be a member of established funk band Pleasure for one album followed by releasing two solo albums on the major label MCA Records executive produced by kindred singer/guitarist spirit Ray Parker Jr.: I Belong To You (1984) featuring “Jamie’s Girl” (Top 10) and Love You Like a Stranger (1988) featuring “Slow Starter” (Top 30).

Now after spending the last two decades working behind the scenes as a producer, talent scout, songwriter, film and television scorer, and Las Vegas strip performer, Randy Hall has come full circle to reclaim his soulful rightful spot in the forefront.

Randy Hall is ready to show the universe “A New Way of Love”…and, oh, is it what the world needs now!
