Tremend — the most dynamic Romanian tech company in Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA 2019 ranking  — was recently awarded the Impact Star recognition by Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Central Europe 2020.

The Impact Star Award was introduced for the first time in 2020, in this unprecedented context created by the COVID-19 pandemic. This award acknowledges companies for successfully linking proprietary products and services with a positive impact on society, business, innovativeness, environment and diversity.

Over the past year, Tremend’s engineering team efforts have focused on digital transformation solutions that support companies in unlocking their potential and overcoming the unique challenges posed by COVID-19.

“We are honored to receive the Impact Star award by the Deloitte 2020 Central Europe Technology Fast 50 programme. It represents an international recognition of the impact of our advanced solutions in supporting companies’ efforts in terms of innovation and digitalization. Nevertheless, it emphasizes our capabilities for change management in a dynamic and challenging market”, Marius Hanganu, Managing Partner, Tremend, says.

Based on Tremend Application Foundation — an internal modular solution for rapid application development using pre-existing modules which can be adjusted according to business needs — Tremend successfully developed competitive digital platforms.

In a very short span of time, Tremend created TORP, the digital onboarding platform which supports companies’ business continuity efforts by offering customers a secure, remote access to their products and services. It also developed observED, an advanced platform that supports digital transformation in education, enabling a seamless transition from pen-paper examination to online assessments.

“We released competitive products such as TORP and ObservED, that support the companies' digital transformation needs during this period, help them practice physical distancing and protect the health and safety of others. We leverage the latest technologies to develop agile digital transformation solutions during innovation workshops with our clients and partners, thus supporting them in achieving the highest standards and providing competitive services”, Alexandru Paraschiv, Director of Innovation, Tremend, states.

As a European Commission technological partner, Tremend supports European public sector companies with their innovation process. By developing the European education platform EPALE, Tremend supports education by creating a diverse European community, opened to the participation of adult learning professionals, including educators and trainers.

As a technology partner of eTwinning, the community for schools in Europe, Tremend empowers teachers  through technology to collaborate, develop projects, share information using a platform with over 860,000 teachers, over 213,000 schools and 113,000 projects.

By building the European Commission's School Education Gateway platform, the company is involved in modernizing and aligning with the online and training latest trends, especially during Covid-19 times.

At the same time, Tremend carried on with R&D investments, and plans to support this strategic direction in the future. Recently, the company released the HumanoID research project in partnership with the University of Bucharest to help companies simplify the process of knowing and validating the identity of users without the need for its physical presence. Another research project Tremend is working on in partnership with University Politehnica Bucharest and the University of Bucharest is Graphomaly, an AI-based solution for risk and anomaly detection in financial transactions.

Tremend is the most dynamic Romanian company included in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA ranking and has joined, for the fourth time in a row, Financial Times 1000 top of the fastest-growing companies in Europe. In recent years, Tremend entered the Deloitte Fast 50 Central Europe and the INC. 5000 Europe ranking.

Web Masters is an IT company offering business solutions and services to better your processes. It provides a multitude of solutions with several integrations such as ERP, jewelry, retail, CRM, business intelligence, and cloud and productivity solutions. Ari is a retail management software developed by Web Masters that automates operations and enhances functions. With the reach of the company in multiple locations, Ari retail management software also has the capability to serve global businesses.

In the current competitive environment, retailers have to make daily decisions to take a step closer to the desired goals. With multiple stores in multiple locations, the management of resources and control of the workflow becomes difficult. The main aim of retailers is to use the resources optimally so that all the business processes run smoothly, thereby resulting in better ROI. There must be a common application that can manage the projects, finances, customer relationships, supply chain, human resources, and any other aspects of a business. A solution that can guarantee successful identification of customer needs, tracking orders, and delivery of items without any troubles. Ari offers the right solution to these requirements in the integration of POS Software with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

This integration allows a direct transfer of data from Ari POS to Business Central. It only requires the selection of the batch size; the data posting happens automatically. The mapping of elements from one application to another happens systematically so that it does not get complicated for the retailer.

As Mr. Snehal Shah, the Product Manager of Web Masters says, "We intended to provide a complete system that integrates the POS with all the business processes and sub-processes. Our solution, Ari Business Central POS integration fulfills this intention and improves your functional scope."

The solution gives an associated view of customers and the related services to ensure that the sales process is managed from start to end. The solution can be deployed in the cloud, on-premises,
or hybrid.

He adds further, "The integrated solution guarantees an end-to-end outlook of functions such as purchasing from vendors, inventory, operations, warehouse management, and accounting. The solution
is relevant for any retail business – be it fashion, furniture, pharmacy, supermarket, jewelry, electronic, or any other."

November 24, 2020, New Delhi— To reduce the risk of fires in the kitchen and also floods in the laundry room, European IEC 60730 and U.S. UL 60730 Class B specifications require safety mechanisms in home appliances, such as ovens, cooktops, washing machines and clothes dryers. Helping designers meet these functional safety requirements in touch screen enabled appliances, Microchip Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: MCHP) today announced its maXTouch® MXT336UD-MAUHA1 capacitive touchscreen controller family — the market’s only touchscreen controllers to offer pre-certified, Class B firmware. The family includes three controllers, the MXT112UD-MAUHA1, the MXT228UD-MAUHA1 and the MXT336UD-MAUHA1, each fulfilling different screen size needs, ranging from 2-to 8-inches.

The Class B certified touch controllers offer unique safety-related features that enable system shut off through an intuitive soft button on a touchscreen, removing the requirement for an external safety certified stop or cancel button and associated microcontroller (MCU). They also allow an appliance to detect a touchscreen or appliance failure and shut down automatically through a variety of self-testing capabilities. For example, if the glass breaks on a cooktop, the touchscreen will turn dark and shut off the machine, eliminating accidental damage in the home. As the number of touch enabled home appliances continue to increase, the MXT336UD-MAUHA1 family shifts the required safety functionality to a simplified single touchscreen interface, helping OEMs reduce costs and improve time to market.

“Due to the risk of house fires caused by home appliances, appliance manufacturers must add functional safety to their machines, and Microchip’s MXT336UD-MAUHA1 touchscreen controller family is already certified for these required safety standards,” said Fanie Duvenhage, vice president of Microchip’s human machine interface business unit. “Integrating Class B certification into our touch controllers eases the design and qualification process for touch enabled appliances, ultimately putting safety first, while reducing costs and enabling modern user interface solutions.”

In addition, this new family leverages a high signal to noise ratio (SNR) design and proprietary differential mutual acquisition scheme. This allows the machine to reliably detect and track multiple fingers on surfaces exposed to moisture, water, grease and more — even if the user is wearing gloves.

Development Tools

Software and hardware tools are available. Software tools include maXTouch Studio and maXTouch Analyzer. Hardware tools include an evaluation kit, available upon request.

Pricing and Availability

The MXT336UD-MAUHA1 family is available in volume production starting at $1.82 in 10,000-unit quantities.

San Antonio, TX – November 24, 2020 – Digital Defense, Inc., a leader in vulnerability and threat management solutions, today announced that its Vulnerability Research Team (VRT) uncovered a previously undisclosed vulnerability affecting the cPanel & WebHost Manager (WHM) web hosting platform. cPanel &WHM version 11.90.0.5 (90.0 Build 5) exhibits a two-factor authentication bypass flaw, vulnerable to brute force attack, resulting in a scenario where an attacker with knowledge of or access to valid credentials could bypass two-factor authentication protections on an account. Vulnerability Management and Threat Assessment Provider Recognized for Ongoing Commitment to Employing and Retaining U.S. Veterans in Meaningful Cybersecurity Careers

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – November 19, 2020 – U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia recently recognized Digital Defense, Inc., a leader in vulnerability management and threat assessment solutions, as one of 675 recipients of the 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during an award ceremony at the U.S. Department of Labor on November 10, 2020. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes job creators who successfully recruit, hire and retain veterans. This is the second year in a row that Digital Defense was awarded a Platinum Medallion Award for its veteran hiring and retention practices.

Digital Defense continuously builds awareness and mines the local San Antonio area for candidates that have separated, are separating or continue serving in a National Guard or Reserve role within the military. Several veterans within the company personally mentor these individuals, helping them navigate unfamiliar areas such as healthcare, 401K participation, etc. Interns and direct hires work within the security operations, management information systems, engineering or technology departments within Digital Defense, learning key skills required to work within the civilian information technology and cybersecurity sectors.

Digital Defense encourages all employees (veterans and non-veterans alike) to advance their education and improve their work skills. The company reimburses employees for the cost of their tuition, fees and books for educational courses and professional certifications related to their job.

“Leaving active duty within the Air Force was a difficult decision to make, but Digital Defense valued the skills I acquired in the military and continuously invests in me with extensive mentoring and hands-on training,” said Kris Trumble, a product manager with Digital Defense who is currently serving a six month tour on active duty as a cyber operations officer with the Texas Air National Guard (TXANG). “From day one, Digital Defense has shown a high level of commitment to my career growth, even while I continue serving in the TXANG. To date, they have supported me through two six-month mobilizations, as well as during hurricane and Texas ransomware response efforts. I know our clients are in good hands, because of how committed Digital Defense is to their employees, especially those who continue to serve.”

Digital Defense joins 674 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who showed a commitment to hiring veterans while also ensuring that they have a long-term career and growth plan that takes advantage of the diverse skills they acquired through their military service.

“We are honored and proud to once again be recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor as a HIRE Vets Platinum Medallion Award recipient for our ongoing commitment and dedication to recruiting, employing and retaining our nation’s veterans in meaningful cybersecurity careers,” said Mark Bell, Air Force veteran and EVP of operations at Digital Defense, Inc. “Through our program, we help individuals make the sometimes-difficult transition from military to civilian life, while making sure they succeed in their new role within the civilian workforce through mentorship, internal and external training and providing ongoing opportunities for growth and increased responsibility.”

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is based on a number of criteria, ranging from veteran hiring and retention to providing veteran-specific resources, leadership programming, dedicated human resources and compensation and tuition assistance programs – with requirements varying for large, medium and small employers.
