Cloud ActiveCloud is ready to store sensitive personal data

LONDON, United Kingdom - September 30, 2020 - ActiveCloud (part of Softline Group) has confirmed the compliance of its cloud infrastructure with the strict requirements of Russian legislation on protection of personal data for the 2nd level of security (UZ2), having successfully passed an independent audit and compliance assessment.

Digital transformation is forcing companies to collect more and more data about their customers. In order to serve their customers better than others and offer the goods and services that meet their expectations it is necessary to know literally everything about the client. Companies today are forced to collect and process transaction histories, social media profiles, state registry data, photos from surveillance cameras, mobile tags and many other information about consumers. The growing role of the online business component due to coronavirus restrictions is further accelerating the pace of data accumulation. The more voluminous and sensitive the information about the client is, the higher requirements for its protection are imposed by the law on protection of personal data.

Today no public company can afford to become the anti-hero of news portals without consequences due to the leak of personal data. It hits both the reputation and the pocket. Therefore, our customers are forced to make more and more efforts to protect information, and it is important for a cloud service provider to ensure a high level of cybersecurity of their infrastructure in order to meet today's customer needs.

"The third level of security most often found in Russian clouds today is obviously in many cases insufficient for reliable protection and compliance with the requirements of the law. By placing their business applications in the cloud customers find themselves in a certain dependence on the cyber competence of the supplier expecting a high level of protection of personal data by default. Therefore, it was decided in ActiveCloud to move to a more complex 2-nd level of security which allows you to securely store sensitive biometric information and data about the health of Russians in the cloud,” comments Dmitry Yashin, CEO of ActiveCloud in Russia.

Leverage AI Within Predictive Analytics to Grow Revenue in Markets with Limited Data

StayinFront RDI (StayinFront Retail Data Insight), a global provider of mobile, cloud-based field force, analytics and digital solutions for consumer goods organizations, announced today the official release of StayinFront RDI Predictive Analytics, a solution designed to strengthen the incremental sales impact of FMCG field teams across global markets through actionable insights where EPoS data is limited or isn’t available.

In modern trade markets with easy access to Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) or scan data, it is common practice for consumer goods organizations to allocate time , manpower and resources to the stores that are generating the greatest amount of sales. However, in channels such as the traditional trade and in many developed/emerging markets, this data is not readily available. StayinFront RDI Predictive Analytics uses a vast array of data sources to predict the likely sales value in any given outlet, even if EPoS data isn’t present. Intelligent algorithms and machine learning identify store characteristics and variables, building a store-level forecast that segments locations according to their estimated sales and helping field teams determine which ones to visit. It can also be used to recommend the next best SKU to range in-store based on the unique catchment area attributes the machine learning identifies.

“We are excited to announce the launch of StayinFront RDI Predictive Analytics, a new technology platform that harnesses the latest thinking on Artificial Intelligence to deliver brand owners hard commercial benefits,” explained Andy Foweather, Commercial Director at StayinFront RDI. “While case studies in production environments of users of StayinFront RDI support revenue increases of 3% or greater, Predictive Analytics is designed to provide a significant revenue lift in markets where EPoS data is limited or not available. Predictive Analytics can help consumer goods organizations identify not only the stores that drive the greatest value, but also the ones with the most potential as well. We are dedicated to supporting sales reps in their quest to Do More, Know More and Sell More in the field.”

Acquired by StayinFront in 2017, StayinFront RDI’s software is tightly integrated within StayinFront’s market-leading TouchCG solution, an award-winning software recognized by industry experts and analysts, and most recently as one of the recipients of the Software Report’s "Top 25 CRM Software of 2020" award. Along with StayinFront RDI, TouchCG contains a full suite of retail execution capabilities, with integrated dashboards and KPIs that provide actionable insights for field teams and their managers.

Microchip Introduces High Reliability Extended Temperature Ethernet PHY Transceiver for Aerospace and Military Ground Based Applications

September 29, 2020, New Delhi – Aircraft, military vehicle and ground-based systems that rely on intelligence, information and secure connectivity to support mission success are enabled by enhanced technology designed to operate in extreme temperatures and environmental events. Microchip Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: MCHP) today announced its new VSC8540/41 Gigabit Ethernet PHY RMII / RGMII Transceiver – a Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS)-based device upgraded for avionics and military applications.

Based on its COTS technology deployed in other industries, Microchip’s Gigabit Ethernet Physical Layer (PHY) transceiver features a military-grade, high-reliability (HiRel) plastic package that meets requirements for applications ranging from fighting vehicles to cockpit avionics and in-flight communication systems. The VSC8541RT Ethernet transceiver is a solution with Reduced Gigabit Media Independent Interface (RGMII) and G.M.I.I., and also supports R.M.I.I and M.I.I. Megabit interface. The transceiver is latch-up immune to atmospheric radiation effects while performing at a temperature range of –55 to 125 degrees Celsius. Product specifications include wafer and assembly lot full traceability; description of testing, electrical parameters and fault coverage; qualification report; and certificate of compliance.

As COTS-based technology, Microchip’s Ethernet PHY RMII / RGMII transceiver allows system designers to begin implementation with COTS devices before moving to military-grade components, reducing significant development time and cost.

Microchip’s RMII / RGMII transceiver is the latest high-reliability solution designed for extreme environments, building on the company’s aerospace, defense and space product portfolio. The device complements the company’s extended-temperature product offering that includes following qualified devices:

 :

  • 8-bit AVR® microcontrollers with embedded ADC/DAC, Controller Area Network (CAN) and motor control interfaces
  • 16-bit dsPIC® digital signal controller for digital power management
  • 32-bit ARM microcontroller with memory protection mechanisms and 100 Mbit Ethernet connectivity
  • 200 Megasamples Per Second (Msps) standalone 16-bit ADC

While continuing to introduce innovations including those based on COTS technology, Microchip teams with system manufacturers and integrators on obsolescence management, supporting customers’ efforts to minimize redesign work and lengthen life cycles, thereby reducing overall system costs.

Availability

The VSC8540/41 Gigabit Ethernet PHY RMII / RGMII transceiver in a plastic or ceramic package is now sampling. Complete product information is at www.microchip.com.
