PESA Unleashes Secura LION, a Cybersecure Video, Audio and KVM over IP Distribution Platform

Announcing Secura LION, a Secure, WAN-Enabled, Multiclass, Source-to-Glass Video Distribution System Over IP (VDS-IP) Platform to Protect Sensitive, High-Value or Classified Video, Audio and KVM Content

PESA today announces the release of Secura® LION, a secure VDS-IP platform enabling highly secure 4K+ video, audio, control, and KVM over IP distribution within zero trust environments. Secura LION protects multiple classifications of content from both internal and external threats, whether in a localized room, a building, across a campus or across the world. From a sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF), to distributed command and control (C2) for government agencies, from secure briefing and operations centers to distributed post-production, sporting venues, airports and more, Secura protects and defends your most valuable asset, your content.

Secura LION is the only live enterprise-architected secure, CNSA (Suite B) compliant, video distribution platform with embedded encryption in all flows from source to glass. Secura LION enables rapid, secure, and clear situational awareness by providing extremely low-latency, perfect-to-the-pixel, 4Kp60 4:4:4 images. Secura LION’s compact form factor and consolidated signals can reduce cabling 50% or more while also decluttering the workspace.

“Secura LION has broken through the IP barrier providing an unprecedented level of encrypted MILS security for video, audio and KVM distribution systems,” said Howard Sutton, PESA chairman and CEO. “Secura LION will protect and defend your most valuable content providing unparalleled assurance while enabling new distributed workflows and operations.

Today’s video baseband SDI, KVM and HDMI switches and routers provide no encryption nor cybersecurity relying upon both physical security and 100% trusted users.  Secura Lion is the cybersecure response to this vulnerability welcoming video distribution to the zero-trust world.”

Secura LION uses NIST certified modules throughout its implementation and in every connection port to ensure complete protection. In addition, Secura LION’s implementation consists of “patent pending” multiple independent levels of security (MILS) enabling each flow to be authenticated, controlled, and authorized for individual viewing for multiple classifications. This ability, paired with ultra-efficient encoding for WAN traversal makes Secura LION a perfect fit for JADC2 applications.

“Secura LION’s open architecture achieves the security goals outlined in the executive order today,” said PESA chief technology officer Scott Barella. “Secura LION is fully CNSA (Suite B) compliant today, with future enhancements and additions to meet and exceed expectations as we go boldly into the zero-trust environment.”

PESA’s long-standing history of providing mission-critical solutions to many military, government and civilian facilities demonstrates the quality and reliability of PESA systems. With the release of Secura LION, the ultra-secure workflows at the heart of all mission-critical applications can be secured to provide trusted, high-quality content for enhanced situational awareness.

Crowdswap the worlds first price search engine for cryptocurrencies launches

St. Katharinen, Rhineland-Palatinate (release-news ) June 30, 2021 - The trading of cryptocurrencies in so-called decentralised financial markets (DeFi), which are based on blockchains and smart contracts, is rapidly growing via the almost 70 decentralised cryptocurrency exchanges (so-called DEXes) into a new form of global finance. Already today, around 2,000 cryptocurrencies or coins/tokens are traded on the crypto exchanges - with a daily turnover of around USD 5 billion, on some days up to USD 10 billion. In the last 6 years alone, the crypto market has grown by 45 000%; 450% since last May.

A big problem in the crypto market today is the lack of transparency regarding the different transaction costs in the various DEXes and the lack of insight into the fair price of a cryptocurrency in the respective crypto exchange.

For beginners in particular, this can mean that they have to pay up to 100% more for an exchange in cryptocurrencies than necessary. Even for experienced DeFi traders, it is almost impossible to get an overview with reasonable effort to get the best price for their swap.

The German start-up Crowdswap now solves this problem. It was founded by a mixed team of software developers from Germany and Iran. They are familiar with blockchain projects in the German energy industry and have spent a year developing best-price routing blockchain technology. With their system, which incorporates both the prices of cryptocurrencies and the associated transaction costs, they want to bring more transparency to the burgeoning global crypto market.

Transparency is also the thread that runs through the professional life of entrepreneur Christian Mülder, software developer, stock market trader and investor, and blockchain is the 100% instrument that makes this possible. As early as 2006, he was a co-initiator in the open source project B2B By Practice. The software is used by 60% of all German energy providers and realises the communication and mapping of processes of the German energy market with the help of a blockchain-like technology. His first company, which he sold in 2016, enabled him to get started as a trader and investor, and for him it was obvious from his own experience that transparency in the crypto market urgently needed to be established: "I was supposed to pay transaction costs of USD 100 when exchanging a coin worth USD 500. This was not communicated to me on the exchange. 20% in incidental investment costs is not acceptable. This gave me the idea to develop a price comparison for cryptocurrencies with my old comrades-in-arms," says Mülder.

Crowdswap goes live with its crypto price comparison app in a beta version in June 2021, available for exchanges of the 2 000 major cryptocurrencies on the Ethereum network on initially 5 of the major DEXes. Traders can compare crypto prices, swap directly across different DEXes, and Crowdswap promises significant cost savings when swapping cryptocurrencies.

Crowdswap displays all prices and costs that a crypto trader can expect in a 100% transparent way and calculates the total price that a trader has to pay for a currency swap.

In the beta phase, Crowdswap itself does not charge any fees; however, they are already displayed in the price comparison.

Microchip Boosts Gallium Nitride GaN Radio Frequency RF Portfolio with Ka band Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit MMIC with High Linearity for Sa

Satellite communication systems use complex modulation schemes to achieve the blazingly fast data rates required to deliver video and broadband data. To attain this, they must deliver high RF output power while simultaneously ensuring the signals retain their desired characteristics. The new GMICP2731-10 GaN MMIC power amplifier announced today by Microchip Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: MCHP) helps meet both of these requirements.

The new device, Microchip’s first GaN MMIC, is designed for use in commercial and defense satellite communications, 5G networks and other aerospace and defense systems.

The GMICP2731-10 is fabricated using GaN-on-Silicon Carbide (SiC) technology. It delivers up to 10W of saturated RF output power across the 3.5 GHz of bandwidth between 27.5 to 31 GHz. Its power-added efficiency is 20%, with 22 dB of small-signal gain and 15 dB of return loss. A balanced architecture allows the GMICP2731-10 to be well matched to 50-ohms and includes integrated DC blocking capacitors at the output to simplify design integration.

“As communication systems employ complex modulation schemes such as 128-QAM and as the power of solid-state power amplifiers (SSPAs) trends ever upwards, RF power amplifier designers have the difficult challenge of finding higher power solutions while at the same time reducing weight and power consumption,” said Leon Gross, vice president of Microchip’s Discrete Products Group business unit. “GaN MMICs used in high power SSPAs can achieve greater than 30% lower power and weight as compared to their GaAs counterparts, which is a huge gain for satellite OEMS. This product delivers on the promise of GaN and enables the size, weight, power and cost OEMs are searching for.”

Microchip’s GMICP2731-10 complements the company’s existing portfolio of GaAs MMIC RF power amplifiers, switches, low-noise amplifiers, and Wi-Fi front-end modules, as well as a GaN-on-SiC High Electron Mobility Transistor (HEMT) driver and final amplifier transistors for radar systems.

Development Tools

Microchip provides board design support to help with design-ins, as does the company’s distribution partners. The company also provides compact models for the GMICP2731-10, which allow customers to model the performance and expedite the design of the power amplifier in their systems more easily.

Infosec Collaborates with CISA to Provide Free Tools to Help Organizations Fight Ransomware Attacks

CISA Ransomware Guide and Webinar to Help Address Growing Attack Vector

MADISON, WI, June 15, 2021 — Following several notable ransomware incidents in 2021, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the nation’s risk advisor dedicated to building the national capacity to defend against cyberattacks, and Infosec, the leading cybersecurity education company, are sharing no-cost resources to help businesses keep their organization secure.

Now more than ever, ransomware is a key challenge for organizations of all sizes, with 10% of all data breaches involving ransomware according to the Verizon Business 2021 Data Breach Investigations Report. The growing number of ransomware attacks has also brought a rise in payments and damages that can be detrimental to organizations and their clients. In 2020 alone, the average ransom paid for organizations increased from $115,123 in 2019 to $312,493 in 2020, a 171% year-over-year increase.

With an exponential increase of ransomware attacks in the past five years, these attacks and degree of damages show no signs of slowing. To address the growing need for cybersecurity training and ransomware response resources, CISA has published a free Ransomware Guide and collaborated with Infosec Institute to host a webinar on available resources and tactics.

“Education is one of the most powerful weapons against ransomware. CISA knows that not everyone has the same resources to prevent and fight ransomware threats, which is why we’ve made it our mission to make these tools widely available and accessible to help organizations stay a step ahead,” said Amy Nicewick, section chief of communication management at CISA.

In a free session on June 24, Amy Nicewick will join David Stern, CISA SLTT partnership lead, to cover topics including the state of the ransomware threatscape, best practices in ransomware prevention and free tools and resources available to help organizations reduce their risk.

“The recent series of high-profile ransomware attacks presents the opportunity to have more conversations about what organizations and their employees can do to help prevent these types of attacks. These attacks also show that cybercriminals will target any type of organization if they deem it profitable,” said Jack Koziol, CEO and founder at Infosec. “The good news is that cybersecurity training and education goes a long way when it comes to preventing these types of attacks and protecting your organization’s data. We’re excited to team up with CISA to provide free tools to organizations and build awareness around cybersecurity.”

Infosec is also offering a number of free cybersecurity awareness training resources to help educate employees about risks and keep cybersecurity top of mind. From a wild west malware adventure to marine-life phishing education series, the free tools offer an engaging suite of education materials for organizations to leverage on the path towards inspiring secure employee behaviors.

To learn more about what free resources your organization can leverage to fight ransomware, attend the CISA and Infosec free webinar on June 24 at 11:00 a.m. CST. Click here to register.
