Grenada Signs Sputnik V COVID 19 Vaccine Deal with RDIF

Collaboration agreement between Grenada and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) allows for the initial distribution of 1 million doses of the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine for the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) region.

Moscow, Russia, March 24, 2021 -- The Government of Grenada represented by the Ministry of Health and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, have announced a cooperation agreement designed to facilitate the registration and distribution of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in Grenada and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) region.

Sputnik V adenovirus vector vaccine was developed by Russia’s Gamaleya National Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology for SARS-Cov-2 (COVID-19) (the “Vaccine”).

As part of the agreement, the parties agree to organize the initial supply of up to 1 million doses of the Vaccine (one dose to be deemed to comprise injections of Ad5 and Ad26) to the region under the authorisation from the RFID and the Institute. Grenada will serve as a local centralized distribution point in the region and undertake the logistics and regulatory approval for the Vaccine.

Derived from the human adenoviral vector-based platform, the Sputnik V vaccine uses two different vectors for the two shots of the vaccination. It provides immunity for longer than the vaccines with the same delivery mechanism for both shots.

The Sputnik V vaccine has been registered in more than 50 countries. Countries in North and South America, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Africa have made requests for more than 1.2 billion doses of the vaccine.

As of February 2021, vaccination with Sputnik V has started or is starting in more than 20 countries besides Russia, including Argentina, Hungary, Bolivia, Algeria, Montenegro, Paraguay, Venezuela, and others.

“We are pleased to partner with RDIF to bring the vaccine to The Caribbean Community. According to the data published in The Lancet medical journal, Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine appears safe and effective,” commented Hon. Nickolas Steele, Minister for Health and Social Security of Grenada. “Sputnik V vaccine could provide a credible option in our fight against COVID-19 in Grenada and the CARICOM,” continued Hon. Nickolas Steele.

“The agreement between Grenada and the RDIF will help the CARICOM population obtain access to a coronavirus vaccine with an efficacy of almost 92% created using a proven and well-studied platform of human adenovirus vectors,” H.E. Oleg Firer, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Grenada added. “Grenada’s diplomatic mission in Moscow is the only fully accredited mission of CARICOM in the Russian Federation and is proud of its accomplishment to deliver vital medicine to the region.

Infosec Institute Announcement

Study Shows How Enterprise IT Leaders Clarify Cybersecurity Roles and Drive Hiring Success

MADISON, WI, March 24, 2021 —Infosec, the leading cybersecurity education provider, today released findings from its 2021 Cybersecurity Role & Career Path Clarity Study. The study surveyed over 370 cybersecurity leaders in the U.S. and Canada about resources used to structure cybersecurity job descriptions and development plans. It then compared responses to training investments, organizations’ abilities to fill open cybersecurity roles and sentiments toward resources like the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Workforce Framework for Cybersecurity (NICE Framework) to provide insights on what drives cybersecurity talent management success.

The study found while resources used to guide job descriptions and employee development plans varied widely across all organization sizes and industries, adoption of tools like the NICE Framework had the largest influence on organizations’ abilities to fill open cybersecurity roles. Overall the study found:

  • 81% of organizations reported they were at least considering aligning cybersecurity job descriptions to the NICE Framework
  • That same cohort was 676% more likely to report very to extremely well-defined cybersecurity job roles and responsibilities
  • And 57% more likely to report satisfaction with their ability to fill open cybersecurity roles than respondents at organizations with no intent to map job descriptions to NICE

“Last year, Infosec’s 2020 IT & Security Talent Pipeline Studyrevealed 73% of U.S.-based cybersecurity hiring managers face challenges filling open cybersecurity positions,” said Jack Koziol, Infosec CEO and founder. “We designed the 2021 Cybersecurity Role & Career Path Clarity Study to dig deeper into those challenges and see how job role clarity and investments in employee development impact how well organizations recruit and retain cybersecurity talent.”

Unsurprisingly, the study found organizations of all sizes struggle with cybersecurity job role and career path clarity. However, as organization size increases, role clarity improves — likely due to larger team sizes and fewer overlapping responsibilities. The study found organizations with more than 10,000 employees were:

  • 35% more likely to report well-defined job descriptions
  • 55% more likely to report having at least some clearly defined cybersecurity career paths
  • 46% more likely to have mature employee development programs with required training

“We are pleased to learn that the community finds value in adopting the NICE Framework to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of cybersecurity talent management,” said Rodney Petersen, Director of the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE). “Expanding use of the NICE Framework is a key goal in the new NICE Strategic Plan and encouraging the voluntary integration of the NICE Framework into existing education, training and workforce development efforts was highlighted in America’s Cybersecurity Workforce Executive Order.”

“Cybersecurity job role and career path clarity remains a serious challenge for most organizations,” said Koziol. “While larger organizations generally do better, plenty of opportunity for improvement exists to help practitioners better understand their job roles and career potential. If you’re struggling with this challenge now, our data shows mapping your existing cybersecurity job roles to the NICE Framework is a great place to start.”

About the study

The 2021 Cybersecurity Role & Career Path Clarity Study surveyed over 370 IT and security team managers from U.S. and Canada-based organizations with at least 1,000 employees. Data was collected in late 2020 and analyzed in early 2021. Infosec solicited responses from its own database, as well as the database of Osterman Research, a leading cybersecurity market research and consulting firm, to diversify survey results. Respondents were sourced from a variety of industries and company sizes to ensure a representative and robust data set, and received a nominal incentive for their participation.

LaTribuna Christian Publishing Announces Healthcare an American Heartache

Chaplain Paul has been serving in nursing home ministry for almost 12 years now and he has seen firsthand the need for change in American healthcare. Chaplain Paul has also been a health care activist for over 25 years now fighting for a better healthcare system in America.

Chaplain Paul was quoted saying, “Healthcare an American Heartache is the story about what happened to my family in having to deal with a broken healthcare system in America. I wrote this book to serve as both a warning and a guide for people who enter into American healthcare. The fact is if we do not know how to affectively navigate through American healthcare, we run the real risk of being led like sheep to the slaughter for profit and greed. The pain and hardship that my family had to endure was inexcusable, no family should have to go through what my family went through when placing their faith and trust into our health care system.”

Chaplain Paul was also quoted saying, “After my mother and father died back in the 90s I decided to fight back with love, I began bringing homemade cheesecakes into nursing homes, care centers, medical rehabs, and hospitals to show appreciation to doctors, nurses, and staff members in the hopes that the power of love would transcendence into the quality of care for the patients.

I also added, How To Protect Our Loved Ones in American Healthcare to this book which is a very easy down to earth guide on how to protect ourselves when entering into American healthcare. It is my hope that all those who read this book will learn from it and apply its teachings to their lives.”

Chaplain Paul’s newest e-book “Healthcare an American Heartache is Free on Amazon from March 17 until March 21 and is Free to Amazon Prime members and it is also Free as a PDF file on the Miracles of Kingman website along with many other of his books.
