Wilmington, DE – A unique medication-free pathway out of depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD has been developed for patients of Brandywine Valley TMS in Wilmington, Delaware.

Brandywine Valley TMS utilizes cutting-edge technology for the treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders. This local TMS clinic provides Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy for depression, anxiety, OCD and PTSD for patients who are seeking treatment options other than medication and psychotherapy.

"Our goal is to improve our patients’ mental healthby providing this novel and medication-free treatment called TMS, or transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy. This is a different approach for patients with conditions such as depression that, for whatever reason, have not done well on medications or simply prefer not to take medications. " said clinic founder, Dr Jack Castro, a Clinical TMS Society member who is also certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

TMS therapy, which is FDA-approved and covered by most insurances, uses magnetic pulses to stimulate specific brain regions linked to depression. This non-invasive treatment has shown promising results in relieving depression symptoms for individuals resistant to traditional therapies. The magnetic pulses modulate neural activity, normalizing mood-regulating circuits, and promote sustained improvements in overall mental well-being.

Dr Castro said: "TMS is a simple outpatient therapy in which most patients experience positive changes after just a few sessions. Sessions are relaxing as they are performed withthe patient sitting in a reclining chair listening to music or watching TV, while a magnetic coil stimulates the patient’s brain cortex and its neurons."

His approach has been highly effective for numerous patients, including that of James, a 36-year-old patient, who presented with ADHD, inattentive type, and cyclothymia, a milder form of bipolar disorder. His treatment history included a moderately complex medication regimen. Despite this, his mood oscillated between relative normalcy and severe dysfunction.

In 2023, after acquiring a MagVenture TMS system, Dr Castro suggested TMS therapy treatment after establishing a strong patient-physician relationship with James. Remarkably, after just 13 sessions, James reported a significant lift in his mood, and to further optimize his treatment, the TMS parameters were adjusted, increasing the pulse count and adapting the intensity accordingly to enhance his low mood.

By his 36th session, James had substantially improved his patient health assessment or PHQ-9. He continues bi-weekly TMS sessions and maintains his initial medication regimen, finding a new lease on life under the clinic's care.

"His journey, marked by trust and perseverance, is a testament to the potential of TMS in managing severe depression as well as other milder forms depression," said Dr Castro. "This highlights the transformative impact of TMS, especially in cases where traditional medication approaches face limitations. James's story is a powerful TMS therapy review or testimonial, showcasing real patient results."

Tarxien, Malta: A journalistic-storytelling style in images has carried a Malta-based wedding photographer to the top of his profession on the global stage.

Franklin Balzan of FBalzan Photography has been accepted in the World's Best Wedding Photos, an exclusive wedding community that harnesses the best wedding photographers worldwide. In the past three, it has received more than 1,500 applications, with only an elite 5% of the applicants accepted as members.

It now positions FBalzan Photography as one of the best wedding photographers in Malta, if not in Europe and the world. Franklin commented: "My journalistic storytelling style evokes authentic moments and emotions, and I am deeply proud that this approach has enabled my acceptance to the World's Best Wedding Photos community."

It is a remarkable rise for Franklin, who graduated as a mechanical engineer in 2007. Although engineering and art may seem unrelated, he grew fond of industrial design. This sharpened his appreciation of geometry and symmetry, which he now utilizes in photography.

His photographic journey began with a passion for street photography, chronicling people's mundane daily activities. "I feel that my vision has been influenced by my Christian upbringing and values, as in my photography, I seek to display the invisible and spiritual realm with the physical and optical dimensions," he said.

His unique talent and love of documenting people, their personalities and connections have led him to photograph couples getting married from all over the world - including those from China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, England, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Russia, Germany, Latvia, India, and the USA.

He reflected on his approach to wedding photography: "It is personaldeep and intimate - the combination of what I feel and what I see, between my soul and your heart. The most important thing for me is that you fall in love with my vision and my work.

"Each of my images is a tribute to the memory of the unique love story. Through my journalistic style, I can visually narrate a wedding story the emotions and feelings of the day. This love for what I do has made my photography internationally recognized and awarded."

Given his excellence and speciality in wedding photography, Franklin also offers mentoring and training for aspiring wedding photographers in person and via online meetings.

SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published a SafeGuardS summarizing a consent judgement relating to athletic shirts reached under California Proposition 65 (Prop 65).

In recent times, several brands, retailers and manufacturers of athletic clothing operating in California have received 60-day notices from the Californian Center for Environmental Health (CEH) for alleged Prop 65 violations in relation to bisphenol A (BPA). In the main, the affected products are made from polyester with some spandex.

BPA is associated with developmental issues, serious eye damage, respiratory irritation, skin allergies and reproductive harm.

The most recent settlement relates to athletic shirts, with a reformulation limit of no more than ten parts per billion (ppb) BPA. In addition, substitutes such as BPS are not permitted but a Prop 65 Warning can be used.

SGS published SafeGuardS to keep stakeholders informed about regulatory and market changes that could impact their business. SafeGuardS 167.23 provides an overview of the settlement, including details of how the CEH goes about making sure products conform to the requirements in Prop 65.

Stakeholders are advised to review SGS’s original SafeGuardS 167.23 for more information.

It should be noted, these agreements are only legally binding on those parties named in the settlement.
