WAYZATA, MN – January 30, 2025 – Access to state of the art technology can significantly improve a dental experience. That’s why the professionals at Wayzata Dental are going above and beyond to provide needle-free, drill-free services using state of the art laser dental technology that you won’t find in many dental offices. The office is taking a transformative approach to oral health in an effort to redefine comfort, precision, and patient safety. Wayzata Dental was one of the first practices in the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area to start offering advanced laser technology, pioneering change in dental care.

As such, Wayzata Dental is leading the field using integrations like the Solea Laser. This laser is a groundbreaking FDA-approved laser that can be used for both soft and hard tissue. This allows the providers at Wayzata Dental to provide a more patient-centered experience, helping to avoid discomfort that is often part of traditional dentistry methods. Their technology eliminates the need for needles, drills, and in most cases, anesthesia too. The Solea Laser was introduced in 2015 at this dental office and since that time, they continue to leverage the innovation to make nearly 90% of procedures virtually pain free and anesthesia-free.

“Laser technology has changed the dental industry and the way we practice here at Wayzata Dental,” says Jason McDowell, owner of the practice. “It’s allowed us to provide extensive treatment and make them not only more comfortable, but more accessible for many patients. Our use of technology offers precision and minimal discomfort. It’s a total game changer that reflects our commitment to patient health and early diagnosis.”

Wayzata Dental raises the bar for dental care and technology with their approach to innovation. They have a unique focus on the patient and what they can do to improve their experience. The investments are often well worth the results for patient care. For years, Wayzata Dental has proven to be at the forefront of safe and effective dental care from cavity detection to radiation-free imaging and even more advanced procedures. Their advanced tools set the providers apart to provide tailored, proactive care that is unique to every single patient’s needs.

New York, United States—Protheragen has launched GeniusAb™, a fully human single-domain antibody platform to produce high quality and customized antibodies for research, diagnostic and therapeutic use. This is a major breakthrough in the field of therapeutic antibodies as it is able to provide highly specific, robust, and versatile solutions to a variety of diseases.

Single-domain antibodies (sdAbs), also known as VHH antibodies or camelid antibodies, are derived from the immune systems of camels and llamas. Unlike conventional antibodies, the unique structure of sdAbs allows them to bind to targets with high affinity and selectivity while maintaining stability and ease of production. These advantages make sdAbs a promising tool in biotechnology and therapeutics.

To reduce the costs and time involved in identifying new therapeutic single-domain antibodies from species such as camels and sharks, Protheragen has found a way to do so: the GeniusAb™ mice. These genetically engineered mice are designed to produce fully human single-domain antibodies. By leveraging these mice, researchers can avoid the need for in vitro humanization, leading to a more streamlined and economical process.

Protheragen’s GeniusAb™ mouse model boasts several advantages, including:

Robust immune responses to diverse antigens: The GeniusAb™ mouse models have a rich repertoire of B cells capable of recognizing and responding to different antigens, including proteins, peptides, and pathogens.

Sequence diversity and optimal affinity: By incorporating human antibody gene segments and implementing genetic modifications, GeniusAb™ mice exhibit a variety of antibody sequences that closely mimic those present in humans, which can enable the examination of a wide array of antibody variants and enhance the likelihood of discovering antibodies with ideal affinity and specificity for the desired target.

Excellent developability: Antibodies produced from GeniusAb™ mice possess advantageous traits, including stability, solubility, low immunogenicity, and compatibility with subsequent manufacturing processes, paving the way for the development and commercialization of antibody-based therapeutics and diagnostics.

The GeniusAb™ platform harnesses the unique properties of single-domain antibodies while ensuring that they are entirely compatible with the human immune system. This innovation opens new avenues for drug discovery and development, allowing researchers to tackle previously challenging targets with unmatched precision and efficacy.

About Protheragen

Protheragen GeniusAb™ focuses on fully human single-domain antibodies. Leveraging cutting-edge fully human single-domain antibody platforms and advanced antibody screening platforms, Protheragen offers comprehensive and seamless solutions for antibody preparation and screening.

SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 189.24, highlighting the US Consumer Product Safety Commission’s (CPSC) approval of its final rule on the implementation of electronic filing (eFiling) of certificates of compliance (CoC) for regulated consumer products.

The new rule was published in the Federal Register on Jan 8, 2025. It will come into force 18 months from the date of publication, giving an effective date of July 8, 2026, unless the regulated products enter from a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) for consumption or warehousing, in which case their effective date is January 8, 2027.

Mandatory eFiling will significantly impact the way products enter the US market. It will apply to all consumer products subject to mandatory safety standards and requiring certification, including de minimis shipments.

The CPSC will invite up to 2,000 additional importers to sign up for voluntary eFiling while the new system is tested and before it becomes mandatory.

SGS experts publish SafeGuardS to inform stakeholders about regulatory changes that could impact their business. SafeGuardS 189.24 includes details of the submission information required under the final rule and how importers can submit participation requests to the CPSC to prepare for the new system.

Stakeholders are encouraged to refer to the original SafeGuardS 189.24 for more details.

SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published a Consumer Compact article looking at the rise of 5G reduced capacity (RedCap) technology and its implications for product compliance.

The arrival of 5G, operating on reduced band frequencies, has opened up the possibilities of faster connectivity at a more affordable price, reflected in the cost of devices and the increased battery drain. Everyday devices such as fitness trackers, smartwatches, health monitors and traffic sensors can benefit from the faster speeds of 5G by utilizing RedCap – which operates in a narrower bandwidth, consuming less power.

This article takes a look at the issues involved in the development of RedCap and the practical solutions it offers; detailing the kind of devices it can optimize and the frequency ranges it operates across.

In addition, the regulatory landscape of RedCap is explored, with the Global Certification Forum and PCS Type Certification Review Board (PTCRB) both adding support for 5 RedCap to their certification programs, to ensure performance and interoperability.
